The mighty Team USA women ease through to another Olympic semifinals.

A’ja Wilson had another near-perfect game to lead the seven-time defending champions to an 88-74 win over Nigeria in the Paris 2024 quarterfinals on Thursday (PHI time).

Wilson shot 9/11 from the field for 20 points in 25 minutes. The WNBA Finals MVP also added 11 rebounds and two blocks in the victory.

The Americans now move on to the next round, where they will face the Opals of Australia.

It will be a reinvigoration of a rivalry as Team USA and Australia faced off in the gold medal game for three straight Olympics from Sydney 2000 to Beijing 2008.

Jackie Young added 15 points for Team USA, who led by as many as 30 in the wire-to-wire win. Reigning WNBA and Olympics MVP Breanna Stewart added 13 points.

Promise Amukamara showed the way for D’Tigress with 19 points, while Amy Okonwo and Ezinne Kalu added 17 and 16 points, respectively.

Despite the loss, Nigeria made history in the game by being the first African nation to play in the knockout rounds of Olympics basketball.
