Four years after making history in Tokyo, Nesthy Petecio remains a force in the boxing world—now with two Olympic medals to her name, and an even deeper purpose driving her every move.

In a heartfelt social media post, the Filipina boxing star reflected on the moment that changed her life: winning silver at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. That memory, she says, remains a lifelong honor.

“Parang kailan lang ang 2020+1 Tokyo Olympics—ngayon, apat na taon na ang lumipas mula nang makamit ko ang aking kauna-unahang Olympic medal,” she wrote.

“Isang karangalang [habambuhay] kong dadalhin: ang silver medal para sa Pilipinas.”

The post, filled with gratitude and grounded in faith, resonated deeply—especially coming just months after she secured bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

With medals in back-to-back Games, Petecio joins an elite class of Filipino athletes who’ve made Olympic history twice.

“Sa lahat ng laban, panalo man o pagkatalo—naramdaman ko ang Kanyang gabay at lakas na siyang naging sandigan ko,” she added.

Petecio's road hasn’t been easy, but it's been undeniably inspiring.

From her early days boxing to support her family, to standing on the Olympic podium not once but twice, she has carried the Philippine flag with courage and pride.
