The Galeries Tower Highrisers pulled off the biggest upset so far in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference after taking down the Nxled Chameleons in four sets, 25-19, 17-25, 25-20, 25-21, at the FilOil Centre in San Juan on Thursday, February 19.

It’s a monumental win for the Highrisers, who notched their second win in the conference, bouncing back from their straight-sets loss to the Farm Fresh Foxies.

With the win, Galeries Tower improved to an even 2-2 record, while Nxled was dealt its first loss at 3-1, meaning that only PLDT has a shot at sweeping the preliminaries and securing a direct semifinal entry.

In the fourth set, the Highrisers took a commanding 13-6 lead after Julia Coronel’s dump ball.

The Chameleons, however, would not go down that easily, eventually tying the game at 17-all behind the efforts of Brooke Van Sickle and Chiara Permentilla.

But even with Nxled breathing in their necks, Galeries Tower showed great composure to retake a crucial three-point lead at 21-18 after Roselle Baliton’s kill block on Van Sickle.

Erika Raagas would go on to seal the victory after scoring the Highrisers’ final two points.

Baliton was hailed the Player of the Game after putting up 16 points on seven attacks, seven blocks, and two service aces.

The Highrisers will look to build on their huge victory when they face the Choco Mucho Flying Titans next Thursday, February 26, at the same venue.
