UAAP: NU assured of at least a playoff for twice-to-beat as Lady Bulldogs take provisional pole in Season 86

National University continues its dominant form in the second round after blasting the Adamson Lady Falcons in straight sets, 25-16, 25-14, 25-18, in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Saturday, April 20.

NU remains undefeated in the second round, moving to the top of the standings for an 11-2 record with just one game left in the eliminations.

The Lady Bulldogs also secured at least playoff for a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four.

NU's trio of Alyssa Solomon, Bella Belen, and Vange Alinsug powered the team to victory after being set up by the brilliance of Lams Lamina.

After comfortable first and second set victories, NU had to work extra hard in the third set before closing out Adamson.

Up 19-17, Nathasza Bombita scored two-straight points followed by Bella Belen, who also connected on two attacks to put the Lady Bulldogs at match point. Myrtle Escanlar then sealed NU's victory after an emphatic attack.

Solomon led NU with 14 points on 12 attacks, one block, and one service ace. Belen likewise had 14 points, while Alinsug had nine in the win.

No Lady Falcon finished in double-digit scoring as Ayesha Juegos finished with eight markers in the loss, which sent the team to a 3-9 record.
