The teacher who went viral for an AI-generated Teachers’ Day greeting from Dwight Ramos finally met the Gilas star in person, received a signed jersey, and even shared a snap with PLDT star Kim Kianna Dy.
An AI-made greeting turned to a real one and ended in perhaps an once-in-a-lifetime moment.
In a full-circle encounter, a teacher who went viral for receiving an AI-generated Teachers’ Day greeting from Gilas Men star Dwight Ramos finally met the athlete in person — and more.
Back in October, a video posted by social media user @e.l.l.a433 showed a class surprising their instructor by giving an AI-generated greeting of Ramos for Teachers’ Day.
The clip went viral, and Ramos’ longtime PLDT partner Kim Kianna Dy even helped turn the AI message into a real video greeting from the Hokkaido Levanga star.
Fast forward on Thursday, February 26, the teacher finally met the 27-year-old gunner in person, took home a signed jersey, and even shared a photo with Dy — a feel-good moment for the fan.
It wasn’t the same joy on the court, however, for Ramos and Gilas Men as the Filipinos absorbed a 66-69 heartbreak to New Zealand.
In the final possession, the 27-year-old had a chance to tie the game with a three-pointer and send it to overtime, but the shot rattled out.
Ramos finished with a team-high 16 points and nine rebounds but struggled throughout, finishing 6-for-21 from the field.
