Majoy Baron once again made her presence felt at the net as the PLDT High Speed Hitters stayed unbeaten in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

Baron anchored the High Speed Hitters’ defense with seven blocks in a four-set victory over the Akari Chargers, 25-22, 25-27, 25-21, 25-15, on Thursday, February 19, at the FilOil Centre in San Juan City.

For the veteran middle blocker, the stat line was a reflection of teamwork rather than individual brilliance.

League-best blocker

Baron’s timing and positioning have been central to PLDT's 3-0 start.

After recording five blocks in their previous win over Capital1 Solar Spikers, she now leads the conference in blocking with 14 total rejections.

Beyond individual reads, Baron credited the High Speed Hitters' system for unlocking their defensive strengths.

So teamwork talaga."

As a middle blocker, Baron embraces her responsibility in setting the tone defensively.

"Kasi sa'kin importante na maka-block ako kasi for me, as a middle blocker, middle blocker nga 'di ba," she said. "So mas focus talaga ako sa job ko as a blocker."

Baron and the rest of the High Speed Hitters will aim to extend their winning run when they face the Cignal Super Spikers on Tuesday, February 24, at the same venue.
