The PLDT High Speed Hitters remain perfect to start the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference after powering past the struggling Akari Chargers in four sets, 25-22, 25-27, 25-21, 25-15, at the FilOil Centre in San Juan on Thursday, February 19.
The High Speed Hitters improved to 3-0, tied with the Nxled Chameleons for first in the standings. Meanwhile, the Chargers remain the only team without a win in the conference at 0-3.
Team captain Kath Arado starred in the win with 26 excellent digs and 10 excellent receptions.
A 9-2 start for PLDT in the fourth frame spelled the difference as Akari struggled to contain its errors throughout the match.
With all the momentum on their side, the High Speed Hitters, led by Savi Davison and Kianna Dy, continued to frustrate the Chargers to build their largest lead at 19-10 before cruising their way to victory.
PLDT will go for its fourth-straight win when it battles the Cignal Super Spikers on Tuesday, February 24, at the same venue.
