The Cignal Super Spikers revived their quarterfinal bid in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference after staving off the Akari Chargers in four sets, 25-21, 23-25, 25-20, 25-20, on Thursday, November 6, at the FilOil EcoOil Arena in San Juan.

The win pushed the Super Spikers to an even 3-3 record, tied with the Chargers for the 7th spot.

After a slow start in the fourth set, Cignal banked on its duo of Erika Santos and import Katrin Trebichavska to give itself a five-point lead at 16-11.

Despite Akari’s attempts to mount a comeback, Trebichavska and Ishie Lalongisip seemingly had a counter for every attack thrown at them, maintaining the Super Spikers’ lead until the end.

The Slovakian import finished with a game-high 24 points on 21 attacks, two blocks, and one service ace.

Cignal will go for back-to-back wins against the unbeaten ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles on Thursday, November 13, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Akari, meanwhile, will look to return to the win column against the Nxled Chameleons on the same day.
