The Cignal HD Spikers aim to bounce back and open their 2025 PVL Invitational Conference campaign on a strong note against the defending champion Creamline Cool Smashers.
The Cignal HD Spikers are out to redeem themselves from a fourth-place finish in the PVL on Tour as they open their 2025 Invitational Conference campaign against the Creamline Cool Smashers on Thursday, August 21, at the Philsports Arena.
Heather Guino-o stepped up with a 13-point outing in their bronze medal match, while PVL on Tour MVP Erika Santos chipped in 12 markers, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Cool Smashers from completing a sweep.
Despite back-to-back losses to close out the preseason, the HD Spikers, last year's Invitational silver medalists, will rely on Santos and Guino-o, along with their core rotation, to set the tone for a stronger push this conference.
With head coach Shaq Delos Santos at the helm, Cignal aims to turn lessons from their PVL on Tour campaign into momentum as they try to return to the podium.
Both Creamline and Cignal though will be starting from 0-1 records, as their PVL on Tour semifinal tally would be carried over to the Invitational Conference due to the tight schedule.
First serve is set for 4:00 p.m. It will air live on One Sports, One Sports+, and the Pilipinas Live app.
