What if the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers never disbanded?

It’s a question many fans still ask whenever former teammates cross paths on opposite sides of the PVL.

And in the PVL on Tour Finals, that “what if” came alive in dramatic fashion as ex-DLSU Lady Spikers and ex-Cargo Movers—now wearing the colors of PLDT and Chery Tiggo—stood face-to-face with a championship on the line.

But for the players themselves, the Finals weren’t about dwelling on what could have been. It was about celebrating where their journeys had taken them.

“For me, I feel like everything happens for a reason, and maybe we were meant to go our separate ways to shine on our own,” said Kianna Dy, who sealed PLDT’s breakthrough crown. “Super proud of everyone who was part of F2 because I see them really working and nadala nila yung fighting spirit that we had in F2.”

The same sentiments were shared by PLDT setter Kim Fajardo and Chery Tiggo’s Ara Galang.

“Ayaw na namin isipin ‘yung nangyari before pero happy lang talaga kami sa pinapakita ng dating namin teammates sa F2,” said Fajardo.

“Siguro sa akin wala na ako doon sa what if. Wala,  nandito kami sa Chery, doon na lang siya sa feeling maging nostalgic pero hindi 'yung what if ganito ganito,” Galang added.

The Cargo Movers, which disbanded in December 2023, left behind a legacy of six championships across PSL and PVL spanning nearly a decade.

But as fate would have it, the former teammates, whose bond is still felt up to this day, would clash for the PVL on Tour title.

“Everything happens for a reason. Siyempre kami na 'yung nag-Finals, happy talaga na although 'di kami magkaka-teammates, happy kami na nakarating kami ng finals, siguro 'yun 'yung will ni Lord for us,” said Aby Maraño.

For Majoy Baron, competing against old allies added both comfort and challenge.

“For me, extra confidence 'yung dahil kasama ko si Ate Kim, Ate Ye, Kianna sa loob ng court. Extra challenge na alam ko 'yung mindset nila Ate Aby sa kabila, nila Ate Ara. Sobrang worth it ng feeling kasi talagang naging maganda 'yung laban namin,” Baron explained.

In the end, Finals MVP Mika Reyes, who was part of the team back in 2016, embodied what the moment meant for the group.

“Actually, sobrang saya lang. Wala akong masabi ngayon, hindi ko alam kung ano ‘yung right words to say. Basta ang alam ko lang, masaya kaming lahat and deserve talaga namin ‘tong panalo na ‘to,” said Reyes.

F2 Logistics may no longer be part of the league, but its spirit lives on through its former stars, now pillars on two deep and driven PVL squads.

The PVL on Tour Finals no longer serves as a “what if”—rather, proof that even apart, the former Cargo Movers continue to shape the league through their present battles.
