It felt like Taft Avenue all over again—only this time, the stakes were higher and the jerseys bore different names.

The PLDT High Speed Hitters completed an undefeated run to claim their first-ever PVL championship in the 2025 PVL on Tour, outlasting the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in a gripping five-set final.

But beyond the scoreboard, it was a story of legacy, reunion, and the unmistakable Animo spirit.

On one side of the net stood Kianna Dy, Kim Fajardo, Majoy Baron, and Mika Reyes—four pillars of PLDT’s breakthrough run.

Across them, familiar faces in Aby Maraño and Ara Galang powered Chery Tiggo’s fightback.

For longtime De La Salle mentor Ramil de Jesus, who was in attendance, it was a rare sight: his former Lady Spikers, now leaders in the professional stage, battling for glory.

“Itong moment na ‘to, this is what I’ve been waiting for,” said Kianna.

“Super happy that Coach RDJ was able to watch. To play against Ate Aby and Ate Ara, but on different sides of the court na, very happy, very proud of them,” she continued. “Hopefully, proud din si Coach Ramil sa’min.” she said.

When the final whistle sounded, rivals embraced, smiles replaced exhaustion, and the moment turned into more than just a championship celebration.

It was a reminder that while the colors may change, the heart remains the same.

Once a Lady Spiker, always a Lady Spiker — and in the 2025 PVL on Tour Final, the legacy lived on.
