Erika Santos is excited for her growth with the Cignal HD Spikers as they opened their PVL on Tour bid with a straight-set win against the Akari Chargers.
Erika Santos could not have asked for a better start to her Cignal stint.
The former PLDT stalwart made an immediate impact in her debut with her new team, powering the HD Spikers to a 25-23, 25-14, 25-23, demolition of Akari, to open the PVL on Tour action at the Chavit Coliseum here Sunday, June 22.
Santos finished with a game-high 14 points, all coming off attacks.

But even with her strong start, the 25-year-old opposite hitter is determined to improve under coach Shaq Delos Santos.
“Siyempre, nakaka-overwhelm. Kasi first [game] on tour at first game ko sa Cignal,” Santos told reporters.
“Pero there's no room for complacency. Uhaw pa [akong] matuto.”

Just over a month since joining Cignal, Santos shared that her transition has been seamless, crediting the positive atmosphere within the team.
“Happy ako kasi maayos ang mga teammates [at] coaches [ko]. Everytime na magti-training, may matututunan. And hindi kami nagsa-stop na matuto and makinig kay coach,” Santos said.
Santos also had high praise for teammate Gel Cayuna

The ex-La Salle standout pointed out her chemistry with the four-time Best Setter as a key factor in her strong outing.
“Sobrang okay kasi siya 'yong hindi mareklamo na setter. Kahit na kami ‘yong mali, nagso-sorry pa siya. Parang kami na 'yong mahihiya,” said Santos.
With barely any time to rest, Santos and the HD Spikers will return to action tomorrow against Capital1 as they shoot for a 2-0 mark.
Match unfurls at 4 p.m. at the same venue.
