Here’s a feature look at 12 of the top potential prospects from the UAAP who can make the strongest case for selection—and maybe even the top pick—in this year’s PVL Draft:

1. Bella Belen (NU) – Outside Hitter

The now three-time MVP was the crown jewel to the UAAP Season 84, Season 86, and Season 87 champions, the NU Lady Bulldogs.

With her all-around game, composed demeanor, and explosive offense, Belen is widely seen as the top prize in the draft pool, should she make herself available. Her experience and leadership will make her an instant asset to any PVL team.

2. Alyssa Solomon (NU) – Opposite Hitter

Solomon is one of the most dominant opposite hitters in the UAAP. Her power, size, and smarts make her a complete player who’s ready to anchor a pro squad’s frontline.

While many would see her as the obvious choice for the top pick, the question still stands on whether Solomon will choose to go abroad instead, especially after she initially threw her name into consideration for the KOVO Draft.

3. Niña Ytang (UP) – Middle Blocker

Easily the top middle blocker among all draft prospects, Niña Ytang will be a coveted prospect.

Always a bright spot for the Fighting Maroons, Ytang is a consistent performer, having won her third Best Middle Blocker award. Her ability to anchor defenses and contribute on offense gives her top-tier value heading into the draft if she goes pro.

4. Lyann De Guzman (Ateneo) – Outside Hitter

An all-around threat with a strong presence on both ends, Lyann De Guzman’s versatility and court awareness make her a solid first-round target.

5. Tin Ubaldo (FEU) – Setter

FEU’s veteran setter has been a key part of the Lady Tamaraws’ rise in recent seasons. Her playmaking, maturity, and leadership are ideal traits for a PVL team needing direction and experience at the setter spot.

6. Alexis Miner (Ateneo) – Middle Blocker

A force at the net, Miner has become a reliable blocker or even opposite hitter for the Blue Eagles. Her height and timing make her a valuable addition to any team seeking to build a defensive wall.

7. Jean Asis (FEU) – Middle Blocker

Another standout from FEU, Asis has proven her strength and hustle in the middle. She brings toughness and grit, along with high potential for growth in the pro game.

8. Chenie Tagaod (FEU) – Outside Hitter

A consistent scorer and reliable back-row defender, Tagaod is one of the more complete outside hitters in this potential draft pool. Her steady performance makes her a smart pickup for any team.

9. Erin Pangilin (NU) – Middle Blocker

A ready contributor in the middle blocker position once drafted, Pangilinan is expected to be a solid piece, whether to a rebuilding team or a championship-contending squad in the PVL.

10. Sheena Toring (NU) – Middle Blocker

Known for her blocking and quick middle plays, Toring brings experience and a winning background. Despite limited playing time in Season 87, Toring could be a valuable pick for teams needing depth and presence in the middle.

11. Alleiah Malaluan (La Salle) – Outside Hitter

Still looking to find her old form, Malaluan is a proven winner and two-way wing who can provide stability, energy, and a solid floor game to any PVL squad.

12. Mayang Nuique (Adamson) – Opposite Hitter

Normally a middle blocker, Nuique was moved to the opposite hitter role for the Lady Falcons, where she impressed many during Season 87.

As she heads to the PVL, Nuique’s flexibility will be key for many teams, who are looking to add another solid piece to their lineup.

NOTABLE IF: Angel Canino (La Salle) – Outside Hitter

A proven leader and superstar, Canino brings strength, stability, and scoring to any team she's a part of. Her leadership and experience with La Salle's system, coupled with her standout stint with Alas Pilipinas, make her a surefire top pick—should she decide to go pro after her junior year.

A big IF, definitely, but not out of the realm in the volleyball world.

With several teams rebuilding or strengthening their cores, this draft class is expected to make an immediate impact in the PVL.

It’s safe to say that the upcoming 2025 PVL Draft could shape up to be one of the most talent-rich class, possibly ever.
