UAAP champion Alyssa Solomon stands on the crossroads after wrapping up her collegiate career with the Lady Bulldogs with a dominant run to the title on Wednesday.

After previously applying to the KOVO Draft in South Korea before subsequently pulling out due to eligibility issues, Solomon said that she wants to focus on recovering from the lengthy season first before taking the next step in her career.

“I think, pahinga muna yung nilo-look forward ko,” Solomon said with a laugh.

But with a lot of interest surrounding the Opposite Spiker even during the season, Solomon said that she’s open to every opportunity that opens itself up to her — regardless of where it may take her.

She also said that there are also plans to focus on the national team, as she and other NU Lady Bulldogs were included in the Philippine National Volleyball Federation’s wishlist earlier this year.

“Kung may opportunities overseas, sige, grab natin… Pero kasi, may Alas din po eh. So siguro, yun din [muna]. Let’s see,” she said.

Solomon also isn’t closing the door on domestic opportunities, such as the PVL which will have its draft next month.

With deadlines looming, Solomon said that she’s still willing to explore all choices.

“Open naman po ako sa kahit anong opportunity sakin. So 'yun po. Pero for now talaga, rest muna 'yung katawan,” she said.

Apart from rest, Solomon said that she’s also anticipating challenges to her condition, which she plans to address in the coming months.

Heading out of the NU system, Solomon is bracing for tougher adjustments later on in her career.

“Siguro mag-palakas pa ng katawan kasi 'yun nga, aalis na ko ng NU so, magbabago na 'yung sistema so, ayun 'yung paghahandaan ko,” she said.
