Dwight Ramos and Levanga Hokkaido come out firing after the B.LEAGUE All-Star, taking down the Utsunomiya Brex to gain a share of first place in the Eastern Conference.
Back from the All-Star break, Dwight Ramos and Levanga Hokkaido are riding high once again.
The Fil-Am guard was a key piece in Hokkaido’s dominant 95-77 victory over defending champions Utsunomiya Brex in Japan B.LEAGUE action on Saturday, January 24.
Ramos posted 13 points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out a couple of assists while finishing with a game plus-minus of +18.
He wasn’t alone in the spotlight, as five Levanga players in total reached double figures.
American reinforcement Kevin Jones led the way with 20 points, while Keisei Tominaga added 17 markers. Jahlil Okafor scored 15, Hiroto Kikuchi chipped in 14, and John Harrar contributed 11 for Hokkaido.
After entering the fourth quarter with a slim 69-66 lead, Levanga flipped the switch, outscoring Utsunomiya 26-11 in the final frame to secure an emphatic 18-point win.
The victory improved Levanga Hokkaido’s record to 24-7, sharing the top spot in the East with the Brex and the Chiba Jets.
Both teams will face off again tomorrow, with Levanga eyeing a sweep to assert its dominance in the conference.
