Quentin Millora-Brown is joining Gilas Pilipinas for the February window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian qualifiers.

 

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) announced Thursday, February 19, that QMB is on his way to the country to join the team’s build-up. 

“After direct conversations with Quentin Millora-Brown and his family, the SBP confirms his participation,” the statement read.

QMB’s arrival is a major boost for Gilas, which will be without big man Kai Sotto in crucial games against powerhouse teams New Zealand and Australia.

The 2-0 Filipinos will host the Tall Blacks on February 26, followed by a matchup against the unbeaten Aussies three days later, both at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

The SBP also praised QMB’s dedication to represent the Philippines anew in the international stage, noting that the 25-year-old will play a pivotal role for the national team now and in the future.

"The SBP appreciates his continued commitment to the program. He’s ready to suit up for Gilas and is going to be an integral part of the current and future of the national team," the statement ended. 

QMB made his impact felt in his first two appearances for Gilas, posting averages of 7.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in double wins over Guam.

The former UP Fighting Maroons standout currently plays as an Asian import for the Chiba Jets in Japan’s B.League.
