The NU Lady Bulldogs maintained their perfect start to UAAP Season 88 after sweeping the Adamson Lady Falcons, 25-23, 25-19, 28-26, on Wednesday, February 18, at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion. The straight-set victory pushed the defending champions to a 2-0 record, while the Lady Falcons fell to an even 1-1 standing in the early tournament rankings.
Sam Cantada led the charge against her former team, earning Player of the Game honors with a team-high 16 points consisting of 13 attacks, one block, and two aces. In addition to her offensive output, Cantada anchored the Lady Bulldogs' floor defense with five excellent digs and nine excellent receptions to stave off Adamson's late-set rallies.
