ONIC Philippines coach Anthony “YnoT” Senedrin reflected on his team’s loss to Team Liquid PH in the grand finals of MPL Philippines Season 15.
ONIC Philippines coach Anthony “YnoT” Senedrin took the good and the bad from his team’s experience of suffering a seven-game series loss in the MPL Philippines Season 15 Grand Finals against Team Liquid PH, ending ONIC’s reign in the tournament.
Despite getting the short end of the stick after an entertaining series, YnoT couldn’t help but applaud both ONIC Philippines and TLPH for what they were able to bring to the table, with fans on their feet at the Green Sun Makati last Sunday.
After falling short of the title, YnoT spoke highly about their opponents.

“Definitely napakaganda [ng series]. I think lumabas 'yung tibay talaga ng TLPH. 'Yan 'yung strength na alam natin ever since and again, I did say this bago mag-start 'yung season na sila 'yung nakikita kong top team syempre, aside from us, na kayang alam mo yun, and rightfully so, yun nga yung nangyari,” said YnoT.
“With the addition of Oheb (Kiel Soriano), alam naman natin na sobrang fit na fit siya sa play style ng Liquid and not just, but adding someone like Ar Sy (Rodel Cruz) na I think naging magandang glue sa team. Just very good mix of people.”

ONIC Philippines actually seized the lead in the series when they clinched Game Three, 2-1. But even then, they were stuck playing catch up later on, having to fight for their lives in Game Six to force the decider, 3-3.
The team’s resilience was not amiss for YnoT, who took solace in the fact that his team continued on fighting no matter the odds.
“Maganda rin naman 'yung pinakita ng players. Again, being down 2-3, yung Game 6, it’s something na sobrang nakakaproud as a coach. Kasi hindi ko naman sila nakitaan na alam mo yun, yung sobrang down na, wala na, mahirap na, talo na. It wasn’t like that,” he said.
Now with the Esports World Cup next on their list, YnoT believes the whole experience will only make them better for the future.
“So, yes, it’s cliche, pero ayun nga, lots of lessons to be learned. Lots of things to pack para sa mga susunod pang laban,” he said.
The ESC will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia beginning July 8.
