Under the guidance of Rodel “Ar Sy” Cruz, Team Liquid PH ruled the MPL Philippines Seasons 15 and 16 and captured the 2025 MLBB Mid-Season Cup crown.
Head coach Rodel “Ar Sy” Cruz has parted ways with the Team Liquid PH ahead of the of MPL Philippines Season 17, closing a 15-month chapter that delivered multiple titles to the Cavalry.
In a statement, Team Liquid PH confirmed that they are ending the partnership with Cruz, whose tenure produced two MPL-PH championships and the MSC 2025 crown.
“Coach Arsy, thank you for everything you’ve given to Team Liquid Philippines. Through your leadership, we entered a dominant era for the organization, filled with multiple wins and outstanding achievements that will forever be part of our legacy,” the organization said.
“You were more than a coach. You were a mentor, a strategist and a constant source of belief. From the grind of practice to the pressure of the stage, you helped mold not just stronger players, but a stronger team. Wherever you go next, we know you’ll make it count.”
Cruz’s departure comes at a time of transition for the squad.
Just days earlier, Team Liquid PH moved former star gold laner Kiel “Oheb” Soriano to inactive status.
The situation later took a turn when Soriano’s legal representatives from Calleja Law clarified that he had formally resigned effective Feb. 6, 2026, contradicting the team’s earlier description of the move as a temporary break.
With a key piece gone, the Cavalry turned to Indonesian marksman Sultan “Aeronnshikii” Muhammad for Season 17.
Cruz leaves with a résumé that extends beyond his time with Team Liquid PH.
Before joining the organization, he began his coaching journey with Falcon Esports, leading the squad to a 4-0 sweep of Burmese Ghouls in the MLBB Mid-Season Cup 2024 Myanmar Qualifier.
Cruz’s last tournament in charge was last year’s M7 World Championship, where Team Liquid PH crashed out in the lower bracket semifinals.
