Top-seeded Team Liquid regain the MPL Philippines championship, beating ONIC Philippines in an epic Season 15 Grand Finals.
Team Liquid rebounded from their Upper Bracket Finals loss to ONIC Philippines, outlasting their rivals in a highly-competitive Grand Finals, 4-3, to win MPL Philippines Season 15 at Green Sun Makati on Sunday.
After being unable to close it out in Game 6 due to the heroics of game MVP Borris “Brusko” Parro that keyed a wipeout of TLPH, Kiel “Oheb” Soriano’s Granger led the cavalry in the title-clincher.
Oheb provided the big guns as Team Liquid dictated the results of team fights throughout Game 7, slowly but surely giving them the advantage over ONIC Philippines.
It was ultimately during the third lord dance at the 16-minute mark that proved the finishing move for TLPH as they tore down the midlane. With one last team fight, Team Liquid finished right as Game 7 breached 17 minutes.
Alston “Sanji” Pabico was named Finals MVP for his crucial performance in Game 4, where Team Liquid evened out the series.
Despite ONIC Philippines trying to put Sanji in a pinch with a Selena pick, he was able to use it to his advantage, tallying a 4-3-6 KDA statline in Game 4 to make it an even 2-2 series.
With the victory, Team Liquid regained the MPL Philippines title after also winning the championship in Season 13.
