Brooke Van Sickle has officially joined Alas Pilipinas practice, gearing up for her possible national team debut in the upcoming VTV Cup in Vietnam.
The long wait may soon be over.
Reigning PVL MVP Brooke Van Sickle has officially joined Alas Pilipinas’ training sessions, as the national team begins preparations for its next international assignment at the VTV Cup set later this June in Vietnam.
Van Sickle joined practice on Monday, June 16, as confirmed by head coach Jorge De Brito. The Fil-Am standout trained alongside MJ Phillips, Tia Andaya, Maddie Madayag, and Alleiah Malaluan.
“It's good to have Brooke as a new player [in the national team]. She has a lot of talents and we've been watching her to play, enjoying her playing on Petro Gazz for two years already,” De Brito told One Sports.
"I think it’s the right time for her to join. It’s a pleasure—not just because she plays well, but also because she truly wants to represent the national team."

Van Sickle was absent from the squad’s campaign in the 2025 AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup, where the Philippines made history with a silver-medal finish. Now back in the country, she is expected to reinforce the team alongside Phillips and Andaya for the VTV Cup, which kicks off in Vinh Phuc, Vietnam.
According to PNVF president and FIVB executive vice president Tats Suzara, both Phillips and Andaya have completed their federation transfer paperwork. Van Sickle has also submitted her documents, albeit a bit later than the other two.
After a three-day break following their AVC run, Alas Women are set to resume full-team practices on Wednesday, June 19.
“It will be our first training all together again,” said De Brito. “We’re going to try to come up with the best lineup we can bring there [to Vietnam].”
