PNVF president Tats Suzara confirmed that the federation switch for Fil-Am players Tia Andaya and MJ Phillips has been signed, while Brooke Van Sickle has yet to complete her requirements.
PNVF president and FIVB executive vice president Ramon “Tats” Suzara confirmed that the process for officially changing of federations of Fil-Am standouts Tia Andaya and MJ Phillips is now underway.
Suzara confirmed the development during the sidelines of the Alas Pilipinas Invitational press conference at the Novotel Manila on Monday, June 9.
The move paves the way for their eventual eligibility to suit up for Alas Pilipinas in official FIVB tournaments.
“We’re processing now Tia Andaya and MJ Phillips’ change of federation. I signed the papers already,” Suzara told reporters. “It will be forwarded to the FIVB with some additional documents—barangay certificates and the like. Hopefully, it will be approved and then they can play officially.”

While both Andaya and Phillips are making progress, Suzara noted that Brooke Van Sickle’s paperwork is still pending.
“Brooke, I have not signed the document. I don’t know if she has accomplished the form. I hope Brooke can submit this. It’s just a matter of completing it. USA Volleyball signs the form so easily,” he added.
Suzara also clarified that there’s no specific deadline or window for these changes to take effect. As a member of the FIVB executive committee, the AVC President said they can approve federation switches at any time, as long as documentation is complete.
“Two days ago, I approved five changes of federation. So anytime, it can be approved,” he said. “As long as Brooke submits the necessary documents, she can still make it. She’s very willing to play for the national team.”

The PNVF remains hopeful that all three players will be cleared in time to join future FIVB-sanctioned events under the Philippine flag.
After Alas Pilipinas’ ongoing 2025 AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup campaign, the national team will gear up for the VTV Cup from June 28 to July 5 in Vinh Phuc, Vietnam.
