Brooke Van Sickle, MJ Phillips, and Tia Andaya are expected to join Alas Pilipinas in the upcoming 2025 VTV Cup, with their federation paperwork nearly completed.
The Fil-Am trio of Brooke Van Sickle, MJ Phillips, and Tia Andaya is expected to join Alas Pilipinas for the upcoming 2025 VTV Cup in Vinh Phuc, Vietnam.
According to head coach Jorge Souza de Brito, the three Fil-Am players were unable to participate in the AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup due to pending documentation related to their eligibility under the Philippine federation.
Fortunately, the process is reportedly nearing completion.
“I think the paperwork is almost done. So, it's a few more days, and they will all be registered under our federation,” De Brito told One Sports.

With Alas Women set to compete in the upcoming the AVC Women's Volleyball Nations Cup, Van Sickle, Phillips, and Andaya's clearance could be just in time for the VTV Cup, which is set from June 28 to July 5.
“For the Fil-Ams, they couldn’t play in the first competition because the papers aren't ready yet. But they can join the second competition [VTV Cup]," De Brito explained.
“For us, the VTV Cup is more of an extended training camp, and it’s a good opportunity to reintegrate them,” he added.

The addition of Van Sickle, Phillips, and Andaya, each bringing international experience and versatility, will be a significant boost for Alas Pilipinas as they continue to prepare for bigger tournaments down the line.
Their participation in the VTV Cup will also allow the team to test combinations and build chemistry ahead of future AVC and FIVB events.
