Alas Pilipinas Women is set to take on a packed June international calendar, headlined by their participation in the 2025 VTV Cup in Vinh Phuc, Vietnam.
Following their campaign in the AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup from June 7 to 14, the national team will gear up again for the VTV Cup scheduled from June 28 to July 5, as confirmed by the PNVF.
This will mark the third straight year that a Philippine women’s team competes in the VTV Cup, an annual invitational tournament featuring top national teams and elite club squads across Asia.
Alas Women will look to draw inspiration from the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, which delivered a historic bronze-medal finish in the 2023 edition—the highest ever by a Filipino team in the tournament’s history.
Last year, the NU Lady Bulldogs represented the country, finishing eighth in a highly competitive field.
Now with a deeper talent pool and more international experience under its belt, Alas Pilipinas is determined to make a strong impression in Vietnam and continue building momentum as part of its long-term roadmap for global competitiveness.
Currently, Alas Women has been ramping up its training with several UAAP and PVL stars already joining the fold.
Leading the group is team captain Jia de Guzman, joined by fellow setters Mars Alba, Julia Coronel, and Tia Andaya.
Defensive specialists Dawn Catindig, Justine Jazareno, and Jen Nierva are also in the mix, alongside powerful wing hitters like Eya Laure, Vanie Gandler, Shaina Nitura, and Leila Cruz.
The middle blocker rotation features a stacked lineup that includes Dell Palomata, Maddie Madayag, Fifi Sharma, Pangs Panaga, Thea Gagate, and MJ Phillips.
Earlier, One Sports erroneously reported that the Petro Gazz Angels will represent the country in the 2025 VTV Cup based on information from the VTV fan page.
This has been clarified by PNVF President Tats Suzara.
