Dell Palomata nabbed one of the two Best Middle Blocker awards as Alas Pilipinas finished with the silver medal in the AVC Nations Cup.
Dell Palomata won Best Middle Blocker for a breakout campaign in the AVC Nations Cup, making it three award winners for Alas Pilipinas on top of a historic silver medal.
Palomata was the best blocker for Alas Pilipinas in the tournament, finishing with 11 blocks — half of her total 22 points for the national team.
With Palomata winning one of the two Best Middle Blocker awards, the PLDT star joined Best Setter Jia De Guzman and Best Outside Hitter Angel Canino as individual award winners for the Filipina spikers.
Their individual accolades sweetened the pot after the team finished with the silver medal after the Finals loss to Vietnam.
The Philippines women's volleyball team won their first silver medal since the 1997 SEA Games, and their first-ever silver in an AVC event.
The team thus finished one step higher than their bronze medal finish in the same tournament last year in Manila.
