Well that was quick.

Two months after the Choco Mucho Flying Titans announced Oliver Almadro would step down as the head coach, he's heading right back to the Premier Volleyball League for the Petro Gazz Angels.

Coach O's move might be the biggest shocker yet in the PVL offseason, which has seen multiple moves and transfers at the start of 2023.

Let's backtrack.

The Flying Titans had a particularly shaky 2022 Reinforced Conference, holding a 3-2 record, when mother company Rebisco announced Almadro would be stepping down.

"The decision was reached for him to focus his efforts in developing the Ateneo Women's Volleyball Program and will take effect immediately," the Choco Mucho statement read.

Almadro led the Flying Titans to two fourth-place finishes in the 2021 and 2022 Open Conference. However, he would be retained as a consultant in the Rebisco volleyball program.

Fast forward to January 2, coach George Pascua steps down from the PLDT High Speed Hitters as they failed to reach the podium in the 2022 season.

And who did they get?

Rald Ricafort, who steered the Petro Gazz Angels to the 2022 PVL Reinforced Conference crown. The Angels also lost their lead assistant coach Arnold Laniog to the High Speed Hitters.

So here we are, with the newly crowned Angels picking up Almadro as they prepare for the 2023 season.

With Almadro handling Petro Gazz and the Ateneo women's volleyball team, Ricafort steering PLDT and the UP men's volleyball squad, and Dante Alinsunurin coaching Choco Mucho and the NU men's volleyball team, can these coaches keep their eye on the prize?
