Michelle Cobb, the long-time captain and setter of the Akari Chargers, has been appointed as the team’s new assistant team manager.
The move marks a significant transition from her on-court leadership to a pivotal off-court role within the organization.
“We’re so excited to have you continue contributing your wisdom and leadership to the team,” the team wrote. “Congratulations on starting your new journey with the Akari fam. We look forward to your growth in this new path.”
Cobb, who had been with the Chargers since their PVL debut in 2022, announced her retirement from playing volleyball on Wednesday, June 4. She had hinted that while she may be done from playing, the 26-year-old playmaker has plans ahead.
