Michelle Cobb, part of the original Akari Chargers in the PVL, has officially retired from volleyball, closing her playing career with gratitude.
Akari Chargers' Mich Cobb has officially announced her retirement from volleyball on Wednesday, June 4.
Posting on her Instagram account, Cobb reflected on what the sport meant to her, sharing how volleyball helped shape her confidence, taught her discipline, and gave her lifelong friendships.
“Volleyball has been a huge part of my life. It’s where I found confidence, built lifelong friendships, and learned to push myself, win with pride, and lose with grace,” she wrote.
“After years of love and dedication to the game, I’ve decided to close this chapter. I’m retiring with a grateful heart, proud of everything this journey has given me.”
Cobb was a key part of the DLSU Lady Spikers’ UAAP championship runs in Seasons 79 and 80. She later continued her career in the PVL, suiting up for Akari.
With the Chargers, Cobb won silver in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference, and then went on to bag the bronze medal in the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference.
But even with her retirement, Cobb, who is set to get married to her longtime boyfriend Vito Sotto, said that she is far from done in the sport.
“As I step away from the game, I carry the strength, love, and determination it gave me. This isn’t the end — just a new chapter, written with the same heart that played every point,” said Cobb.
