They did what they were supposed to do.
The Cignal HD Spikers and the Chery Tiggo Crossovers came to Cagayan de Oro for a friendly showdown, and they did not disappoint. The battle on Saturday ended up being a five-set thriller, which Cignal won, 22-25, 25-19, 19-25, 25-23, 15-13. The HD Spikers proved that their vets could handle a team stacked with blue chip recruits.
But as intense as the match was, the show was all about the fans. It was a chance for the PVL to reach out to its die-hard followers outside of Metro Manila. And of course, both teams were eager to put on a good show and interact with the league’s supporters. Cignal and Chery Tiggo seemed to enjoy the whole experience.
On Instagram, Eya Laure shared how excited the whole Crossovers squad was for a meet-and-greet with its fans.

Of course, the peeps were ecstatic to see how stunning their idols were in person. Imee Hernandez posted an IG story wherein a fan was geeking over her and Ponggay Gaston.

Cignal's Rachel Ann Daquis, meanwhile, gave a glimpse of how rowdy her crew can get inside the team bus as they danced to novelty song Totoy Bibo.

Her teammate Jovelyn Gonzaga on the other hand, showed Cagayan a lot of love as the HD Spikers rode what looked like an oversized golf cart inside a local mall.
“Thank you, Kagay-anons,” she posted.

All that being said, the fans were quite serious with their reactions towards the exhibition match.
Netizen @YuShalan alluded that Cherry Tiggo’s highly touted rookies in Laure, Hernandez, Cess Robles, Jen Nierva, and Joyme Cagande have a significant room for improvement so far.
“’Di talaga umubra newly recruited na 5 young guns. Better luck next season. Good Job, Team. Awesome,” he tweeted.
A couple of fans on the other hand, have an opposing view.
“Ang ganda ng laro ni Jen today,” posted @meannestrella29
“The Chery Tiggo rookies all did well today,” @essinaldo said.
In conclusion, the PVL needs to keep going on tour. Not only the fans love it but the players as well. The public will love to see this continue until the actual action resumes for the third conference, which will be another All-Filipino tournament.
