Munzon and Ferrer thanked their former teams as they look forward to joining their new squads.
When one door closes, another one opens.
Joshua Munzon and Kevin Ferrer will enter the PBA Governors’ Cup wearing a new jersey, and before that happens, they made sure to tip their hats to their former teams.
On Twitter, Muzon showed his appreciation for the Terrafirma Dyip organization. The former No. 1 overall pick also said he looks forward to the next part of his PBA career.
On Instagram, Ferrer also thanked his old team, the Northport Batang Pier.
Munzon, 27, and Ferrer, 29, are considered as players who still have potential to unlock despite their struggles with their previous teams.
Munzon was seen as a special talent prior to entering the PBA. This is proven by his position in the 2021 Draft, where Terrafirma picked him first overall. Fans and figures from around the league expected him to rise as one of the top faces in the PBA. Unfortunately, Munzon has yet to find his stride with Terrafrima. In the Commissioner's Cup, he averaged 8.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists — not exactly superstar numbers.
Ferrer, on the other hand, also had a bright career before entering the league. The 6-foot-5 forward was UAAP Juniors MVP when he played for UST High School. In the collegiate level, he was named to the UAAP Season 78 Mythical Team. Injuries, however, have slowed down Ferrer.
Can Munzon and Ferrer kickstart their PBA careers anew with their new teams?
