The Creamline Cool Smashers move to 2-0 in Pool B after powering past the Akari Chargers in four sets, capping off the Vigan leg of the PVL on Tour.
VIGAN, ILOCOS SUR—The Creamline Cool Smashers asserted their mastery over the Akari Chargers after securing a four-set victory, 27-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-18, in the PVL on Tour at the Chavit Coliseum on Monday, June 23.
Fresh off their dominant win against the Capital1 Solar Spikers last night, the Cool Smashers overcame a gritty stand put up by the Chargers, who were still without Fifi Sharma, Justine Jazareno, and Faith Nisperos.
Despite a second-set defeat, Creamline showed no signs of letting up, controlling the third set before pouncing in the fourth.
The Cool Smashers started the frame with a 7-1 run, which ultimately spelled doom for the Chargers.
Creamline continued to hold on to its big lead to secure the victory, as Alyssa Valdez and Michele Gumabao fired on all cylinders, combining for 33 points in the win.
Creamline will have a week off to prepare for the Cignal HD Spikers on July 1 at the FilOil EcoOil Center in San Juan City.
Meanwhile, Akari will search for its first win on July 5 when they face the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles at the Ynares Center Montalban.
