Willy Wilson’s tenure as Phoenix head coach in the PBA has ended, and the Fuel Masters also let go of team consultant Jamike Jarin in a pair of significant personnel changes.
Willy Wilson’s first PBA head coaching stint came to an abrupt end less than five months after he took the reins of the Phoenix Fuel Masters.
On Wednesday, January 15, the team announced via social media that it had “amicably” parted ways with Wilson and team consultant Jamike Jarin.
“After much evaluation, the Phoenix Fuel Masters have amicably parted ways with Head Coach Willy Wilson & Team Consultant Jamike Jarin effective immediately,” the team said.
Wilson was appointed head coach in August 2025, taking over from Jarin, who had led the team for two years before moving into a consultant role.

In his lone conference at the helm in the season-opening Philippine Cup, the ex-PBA cager led Phoenix to a 3–8 record, falling short of the playoffs for the fourth consecutive conference.
The last time the Fuel Masters reached the postseason was in the 2024 Commissioners’ Cup, when they fell to the Magnolia Hotshots in a five-game semifinal series.
“We thank Coach Willy and Jamike for their hard work, commitment, and professionalism through the years and wish them the very best in their future endeavors,” the post ended.
