Kevin Alas and NLEX made an early exit from the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup playoffs after the Road Warriors’ collision with defending champion San Miguel.
NLEX ace Kevin was all smiles when he faced reporters with his wife Selina and daughter Cali on Christmas Day.
While upset with the ouster, Alas remained upbeat after their 101-94 loss to defending champion San Miguel in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup quarterfinals.
“For me I have a personal goal kasi na maka semifinals kami for the season. So I guess may two chances pa para maka semifinals,” said Alas after the match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“Yes, happy with the improvement but kinda disappointed kasi gusto ko talaga maka-semifinals and have a chance na maka-compete uli.”
The Road Warriors kept in step with the Beermen in the first two quarters, but a telling 21-2 run to start the third period proved to be the difference for San Miguel.
Even with Robert Bolick erupting for 31 big points in his return to the team after the SEA Games 2025 gold medal, NLEX just couldn’t fully flip the script on San Miguel.

“Maybe we need more time to develop yung chemistry,” he said.
Though not by leaps and bounds, NLEX continues to show improvements by the conference. That’s why there’s no doubt in Alas’ mind the Road Warriors’ time will come.
“I guess it’s not time yet. By God’s grace, alam ko naman na nagi-improve kami,” said Alas.
For now, Alas will enjoy the rest of the Holidays with his family before plunging back in action in preparation for the import-laced Commissioner’s Cup.
