The Changwon LG Sakers leaned on Carl Tamayo once again as they outlasted William Navarro and the Busan KCC Egis, 109–101, in a double-overtime thriller in the Korean Basketball League (KBL) on Friday at Sajik Indoor Gymnasium in Busan.
Tamayo, who was recently named an All-Star starter in the upcoming KBL All-Star Game, finished with 24 points as the LG Sakers snapped KCC Egis’ seven-game winning streak and tightened their grip on the top spot in the standings with an 18-6 record.
Changwon, now on a four-game run of their own, extended their winning streak against the Egis to 10 games dating back to the 2023–24 season.

The LG Sakers also drew strong support from Asem Marei, who posted 22 points and 19 rebounds, while Yoo Ki-sang added 23 points. Yoon Won-sang and Jeong In-deok chipped in 19 points apiece as Changwon relied on balanced scoring to pull away in the second overtime.
KCC stayed within striking distance behind a career-high 25 points from Yoon Ki-chan and 35 points from import Sean Long, but the Egis couldn’t turn the game around despite forcing extra periods.
Navarro tallied 10 points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals in the loss as Busan dropped to 16-9, tied for second place with Jeong Kwan Jang.
