Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls stayed red-hot, extending their winning streak to five with a clutch victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls couldn’t have asked for a better start to their six-game homestand.
Chicago relied on a decisive 10-0 closing run to fend off the visiting Philadelphia 76ers, 109-102, to extend their winning streak to five games on Saturday, December 27 (PH time)
Trailing 99–101 with 2:45 left in regulation, the Bulls went on a 7-0 run capped by a Tre Jones layup to take the lead, 106–101, with 1:27 remaining.
After a Sixers timeout, Nikola Vucevic swatted away a Tyrese Maxey layup, leading to another easy Jones basket, making it nine unanswered points.
Jones then sealed the stretch with a free throw, as Chicago outscored Philadelphia 28–17 in the final frame to even their record at 15–15.
Jones and Zach Collins each contributed 15 points, while Giddey recorded a double-double with 12 points, 11 assists, and five rebounds.
Joel Embiid led all scorers with 31 points, and Maxey added 27, but the Sixers went ice-cold late, missing their final six shots and falling to 16–13.
Philadelphia continues its road trip in Oklahoma City to face the defending champion Thunder (26–5), while Chicago heads next to take on the Milwaukee Bucks (12–18).
