Who says you can’t run, row, and lift your way into history?

Filipino fitness enthusiasts have a new goal to cross, after Nico Bolzico and Gabb Rosario competed at the HYROX Doubles event in Singapore, finishing the event in 58:07 — the first-ever sub-1 hour finish for Filipinos in HYROX Doubles Men.

This achievement comes after a mix of emotions just weeks before. On November 14, Bolzico reflected on their race at HYROX Korea, where they finished in 58:57 but faced penalties that would have officially put their time at 1:01.

“The good news is that we know we can do sub-1 hour in HYROX PRO with @adriensemblat! Back to the whiteboard and training to come back stronger… @hyroxtw we’ll be there and get our sub 1!” he wrote on Instagram.

Bolzico is a businessman who hails from Argentina who married Filipino-French actress Solenn Heussaff. He competed in Singapore 2025 under the Philippine flag.

"The Philippines adopted me 9 years ago and I can not be happier to call myself Filipino!" the social media personality posted back in 2019.

Looking back on the HYROX event, Bolzico acknowledged the strength of Filipino athletes.

“We saw so many young Filipino athletes coming in strong, and honestly, that’s the best part — seeing more Filipinos embracing fitness, health, and performance,” he wrote. "This record won't stand for long."

The HYROX event, which combines running with eight functional workout stations like rowing, sled pushes, and burpees, pushed both athletes to their limits.

Their sub-1 hour finish highlights the rising presence of Filipinos in the international fitness arena.

Adding a fun twist, Bolzico pointed out a quirky coincidence: while he completed HYROX in 58 minutes, his wife Solenn ran her AIA 10K in 58 minutes that same weekend.

“Tell me that’s not destiny,” he playfully added.

Solenn also does HYROX, showing she’s no stranger to the challenge.

Looking ahead, Bolzico and Rosario are already setting their sights on the HYROX Doubles PRO category, aiming to break the sub-1 hour barrier once again.
