TNT stars like Calvin Oftana know they can rely on Almond Vosotros and the rest of their bench players to step up and rally their Grand Slam cause.
Almond Vosotros has continued to be a much-needed boost off the bench for TNT in its ongoing PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup Finals against San Miguel.
Vosotros was a force for the Tropang 5G in the fourth period of Game 5 Wednesday night, July 23.
He dropped five straight points to cap a telling 13-0 run that gave TNT a comfortable 72-55 cushion. His Grand Slam-seeking squad eventually lived to fight another day via an 86-78 verdict over the Beermen.
The former La Salle standout’s contributions didn’t go unnoticed by his teammates — particularly Calvin Oftana.

Vosotros came off the bench to finish with 11 points, a rebound, two assists and a steal in over 18 minutes.
The pint-sized guard’s showing helped give openings for players like Oftana and RR Pogoy to attack San Miguel’s defense.
Oftana finished with 13 points and Pogoy, 11.

While Vosotros stood out, Oftana also praised his other teammates on the bench in the must-win game for the Tropang 5G.
“Hindi nila kailangang umiskor nang malaki, knowing na dinedepensahan din kami ni Roger. Malaking bagay sila, crucial sila. Nagtsi-chip in lahat. 'Yon 'yong malaking bagay [kaya] nanalo kami ngayon,” Oftana said.
