The TNT Tropang 5G will have to continue their fight for a Grand Slam in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup Finals without Poy Erram inside the court.
Poy Erram is out for the rest of the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup Finals.
Erram bared this shortly after TNT stayed in the thick of battle for the crown via an 86-78 victory over San Miguel in Game 5 Wednesday, July 23.
The Tropang 5G big man, who is already nursing a sprained ankle, suffered a meniscal tear in his left leg when he opted to play in the Tropang 5G's Game 4 loss last Sunday, July 20.
“Hindi talaga kakayanin. Nagpa-MRI kami kanina, nagkaroon ng meniscal tear 'yong left leg ko,” Erram told reporters after the match at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao.

Erram said he will need to undergo surgery for his latest injury and that his recovery will take about three to four months.
“Months. Sabi ng team doctor namin, baka umabot ng three to four [to fully heal.] Magang-maga nga ngayon, eh. Nahihirapan nga akong maglakad,” he said.
Now sidelined, Erram will contribute to TNT's Grand Slam cause by guiding his teammates from the bench.
“Manonood pa rin naman ako. 'Yon na lang ang magagawa ko: to support them, kausapin 'yong mga players kung anong kailangang gawin. Offensively, defensively, kung ano 'yong mga nakikita ko sa loob," Erram said.
“Para kahit papaano, makatulong sa team saka sa mga players.”
