World No. 2 Italy flexed its dominance against Belgium in their Pool H rematch in the 2025 FIVB Men's World Championship quarterfinals.
Defending champions Italy erased any doubt about its championship hunger after making quick work of Belgium, 25-13, 25-18, 25-18, in the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship quarterfinals at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Wednesday, September 24.
With their Pool F defeat still fresh in their minds, the Italians dominated from start to finish against the Belgians, who made their first quarterfinal appearance in the global tournament.
It was only in the third set that Belgium managed to keep in step with Italy. But even then, the world No. 2 squad pulled away mid-way in the frame and later secured the commanding victory.
The Italians had a balanced outing with Roberto Russo leading the way with 12 points. Alessandro Michieletto had 11 markers, while Mattia Bottolo added 10 in the win.
Italy now awaits the winner between Poland and Turkiye later at 8:00 p.m.
