Coast-to-Coast: Alyssa Thomas makes WNBA history with third straight trip-dub for Mercury

Alyssa Thomas etched her name in the WNBA record books, Julie Allemand secured her first career triple-double, and Aliisha Gray continued her scoring onslaught for the Atlanta Dream.


THOMAS CONTINUES TRIPLE-DOUBLE TEAR; SPARKS, DREAM KEEP HUMMING

  • Phoenix Mercury (19-11) def. Indiana Fever (17-14),95-60: Alyssa Thomas continued her triple-double tear as the Mercury rolled past the Fever for a third straight win.

Thomas finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists on her way to becoming the first WNBA player ever to rack up three straight trip-dubs. 

  • LA Sparks (14-15) def. Connecticut Sun (5-24), 102-91: Julie Allemand tallied her first career triple-double and pushed the Sparks to extend their winning streak to three at the Sun’s expense. 

Allemand produced 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists to join Lisa Leslie, Candace Parker, Chelsea Gray and Layshia Clarendon as the only players in Sparks' history to achieve a trip-dub.

  • Atlanta Dream (19-11) def. Chicago Sky (8-22), 86-65: Allisha Gray unloaded 25 points for her third straight game with at least 20 markers or more, pacing the Dream’s fourth straight dub. 

Jordin Canada chipped in 17 points for Atlanta, who scored a 4-0 season series sweep of the reeling Sky.
