Alas Pilipinas set their sights on redemption as they battle Vietnam in the opening match of the 2025 SEA V.League Leg 2 on Friday, August 8, at the Ninh Binh Gymnasium.

After falling to silver medalists Vietnam in four sets during Leg 1, the Filipinas aim to bounce back with the leadership of veteran setter Jia de Guzman, who once again anchors the offense.

De Guzman will orchestrate plays for spikers Angel Canino, Bella Belen, Eya Laure, Alyssa Solomon, Vanie Gandler, and Shaina Nitura.

The Jorge De Brito-coached squad will also have Cla Loresco back in the lineup, replacing Leila Cruz in the second leg.

Alas Women are hoping for a better result this time around, with a podium finish in sight as the team also gears up for the 2025 Southeast Asian Games later this year.

The match serves as the first of three for the Philippines in Leg 2, followed by showdowns with Thailand and Indonesia in the week-long regional tilt.
