With Kai Sotto out owing to an ACL injury, Cone sees the two young guns to play big roles for Gilas when the FIBA Asia Cup rolls along this August.

Tamayo and Quiambao, along with guys like Kai Sotto and AJ Edu, are seen as the cornerstone of the Gilas program after the Scottie Thompson and June Mar Fajardo era.
With the way they have been playing overseas, there’s no doubt in any Filipino basketball fan that the future is bright for Gilas.
“And that's the whole point of getting them when they're younger and having them mature through the process. So we'll see I'm excited for it,” Cone said.
