‘Nothing Else Matters’ is the message that Gilas Pilipinas anchor Jordan Clarkson, Slovenian superstar Luka Doncic, Japanese marksman Yuta Watanabe, and Chinese national team stalwart Zhou Qi will be sending as they turn their focus on representing their respective flags in the FIBA World Cup.

These four international hoops stars were tapped to be the main stars in FIBA’s creative campaign for its flagship event. In partnership with UK agency Be Media, 'Nothing Else Matters’ provided fans an access to their hardwood heroes’ off-court hobbies and exquisite basketball talents using state-of-the-art filming techniques and computer-generated imagery.

The storytelling is designed to convey a smooth transition for each player, from their leisure time into the intensity of a high-stakes contest on the game’ grandest stage. Action, hoop skills and stunning locations, #NothingElseMatters has it all. Every necessary element has been put together to make an exciting film that will bring the FIBA World’s Cup global message to life.

For further authenticity, each player was shot in places that have a deep connection to their roots. Doncic was filmed in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Clarkson was filmed in San Antonio, Texas, where the Filipino-American grew up. Watanabe’s scene was done in Miyazaki, Japan, while Qi did his bit in Qingdao City.

Teasers for #NothingElseMatters have made the rounds online in the past few days, particularly the ones that featured the Gilas reinforcement, Luka Magic, and the Chinese big man

For sure, the appetizers alone have the fans all hyped up. And of course, the finished product ups the excitement level through the roof. Who knows? It might also inspire the people to step their games up, just like how JC elevates the play of the rest of Gilas.

The FIBA World Cup tips off on August 25.
