Following their stunning four-set victory over world no. 22 Egypt in Pool A of the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship, the Philippines jumped 11 spots in the latest FIVB world rankings—from no. 88 to no. 77.
The leap in the rankings comes after the Filipinos clinched their first-ever win in the FIVB Worlds, taking down Egypt in a thrilling 29-27, 23-25, 25-21, 25-23 match at the Mall of Asia Arena on Tuesday.

The historic win not only boosted hopes in Philippine volleyball but also earned significant ranking points after subpar performances in recent regional tournaments.
With key performances from Bryan Bagunas, Leo Ordiales, and Marck Espejo, the team now has momentum heading into their final Pool A match against world no. 14 Iran on Thursday, September 18.
