Player of the Week Angel Surada and the NU Lady Bulldogs look to stay within striking distance of the top spot as they battle the struggling UP Fighting Maroons in the UAAP Season 88 women’s basketball tournament on Wednesday, October 29, at 10 a.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Lady Bulldogs (7-1) continue to chase league-leader UST Growling Tigresses in the standings, as they aim to keep their championship defense on track.

Surada, who is coming off an all-around showing of 22 points, nine rebounds, one assist, and an impressive 11 steals, will once again be NU’s driving force on both ends of the floor. Her consistency and leadership have been pivotal as NU seeks a stronger second-round surge.

Meanwhile, the UP Fighting Maroons (2-6) are desperate to snap a six-game skid and reignite their season.

Rising guard Camille Nolasco, who posted 17 points, six assists, and three steals in their narrow loss to FEU, will need another inspired outing to help UP challenge the powerhouse Lady Bulldogs.

With NU hungry to maintain its hold on second place and UP eager to turn its fortunes around, this matchup is expected to test both teams’ resolve as the tournament heats up.
