De La Salle is holding its breath after starting big man Mason Amos suffered an apparent injury during the Green Archers’ 82-78 loss to the NU Bulldogs in UAAP Season 88 on Sunday, October 12.

Amos went down with 7:07 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter after NU's Gelo Santiago inadvertently landed on his right knee.

The sweet-shooting forward, who had contributed seven points and four assists in 17 minutes, was escorted off the court in obvious pain.

“He will have his MRI later. Based on what he told us, he heard a pop when he got hit. We just hope that he's going to be okay," DLSU head coach Topex Robinson said in the post-game interview.

The former champion coach added that the MRI will take place at Makati Medical Center and is hoping for a favorable result for Amos.

“We’re hoping it turns out okay for us. It’s an unfortunate situation, but these things happen in basketball. What we’re all hoping for now is a positive MRI result.”

Amos’ injury adds to the growing list of challenges for the Green Archers, who have been quite inconsistent in their quest for redemption this season.

Currently at 2-3 with back-to-back losses, the Green Archers find themselves outside the top-4 near the end of the first round.

Next up for DLSU is a matchup against the winless UE Red Warriors before facing the defending champions, UP Fighting Maroons, in a highly-anticipated Finals rematch.
