The UST Growling Tigers keep hauling recruits from here and abroad.

On Wednesday, UST welcomed Fil-Ams John Abate and Jason Suba into the Tigers’ lair in España, Manila.

“Nadadagdagan 'yung mga materyales natin dito sa UST, so importante para sa amin na mas mailabas pa 'yung galing nila para rin makatulong sila sa atin," said coach Pido Jarencio, whose team recently got the support of Petron.

Both Abate and Suba, though, are eligible to see action only in Season 87 of the UAAP.

The 6-foot-1 Abate played for Spring Hill College Badgers, where he normed 6.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in the 20212022 season.

Meanwhile, Suba suited up for Team United USA in the NBTC National Finals. The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 11.0 points and 3.7 rebounds.

The two are the latest addition to a growing UST pool that recently acquired the services of Vince Ventulan, a 6-foot-4 winger who played college ball in Ave Maria Gyrenes.

Hell-bent on reclaiming lost glory, the Growling Tigers also secured the commitment of high school standouts SJ Moore and Mark Llemit.

Indeed, the Growling Tigers appear to be ready to roar again in the coming seasons.
