The De La Salle Green Archers are looking like a much different team during this preseason.

After signing Topex Robinson as the team’s new head coach, La Salle has shown improvements in its game, remaining undefeated in the FilOil EcoOil Preseason Cup and the PBA D-League.

But the former Phoenix LPG Fuel Masters coach has a simple but important reminder to the team amid its winning run so far: Stay humble.

On his YouTube channel, Robinson posted vignettes of what happened before and after La Salle’s 90-83 victory versus the powerhouse UP Fighting Maroons. After the match, Robinson was seen writing on the team board the phrase: “Be humble.”

“We haven't proven anything yet,” said Robinson. “This is just the preseason tournament. Nobody wins the UAAP winning the preseason.”

La Salle knows a thing or two about having a dominant preseason, only to falter in the most important tournament of all—the UAAP men's basketball tournament.

Last year, the Green Archers dominated the PBA D-League, winning the Aspirants' Cup, while also impressing many with a great run in the FilOil tournament.

However, come UAAP Season 85, La Salle struggled to put up consecutive wins as they missed out on the Final Four.

That’s why for Robinson, it’s about keeping a winning mentality all throughout.

“Just like what I always tell you, you keep that habit of winning, not giving up, good things are bound to happen,” said Robinson.

Coach Topex also urged his boys to move on to the next one as plenty of work still needs to be done.

“Let's keep this behind us now. It's done and over with, so let's move forward na from this,” said Robinson.

If La Salle keeps this up, then it just might have a shot at winning the UAAP's most coveted crown come Season 86.
