Alas Pilipinas Men powered past Cambodia anew with a four-set victory to secure win no. 1 in the 2025 SEA V.League Leg 2.
Alas Pilipinas Men continue to get one over Cambodia by securing a four-set win, 25-23, 25-22, 23-25, 25-18, in Leg 2 of the 2025 Southeast Asian Volleyball League (SEA V.League) at the Jakarta International Velodrome on Friday, July 18.
The Philippine squad did not need five sets to take down the Cambodians this time, showing greater composure in end-game situations.
After falling short of their comeback bid in the third set, Alas Men raced ahead to an 11-6 lead with Jade Disquitado’s service ace. But Cambodia would come right back firing as they tied the game at 14-all.
Just when the Cambodians looked poised to take the momentum, Leo Ordiales and Peng Taguibolos put the Alas Men back on top with back-to-back kill blocks for a 19-16 lead.
From there, the national team widened its lead further to six points as team captain Kim Malabunga and Louie Ramirez sealed win no. 1 in the second leg.
Up next for Alas Men will be against gold medalist Thailand tomorrow, July 19 at 5:00 p.m. (Manila time).
