The Queen City of the South joins in on the festivities ahead of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship with a trophy and mascot tour.
Anticipation is rising for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship in the Philippines, as Cebu hosted the latest leg of the “Set Na Natin ‘To” trophy and mascot tour at the SM Seaside over the weekend.
With World Championship ambassador Eya Laure in tow, the tournament trophy made its stop in the Queen City of the South as fans rallied to support the Alas Pilipinas Men, who are now wrapping up three European training camps.

Laure joined Cebuana artist Karrencita in the festivities as the latter performed the tournament’s official theme song “Electrifying” along with official mascots Koo Log and Kid Lat.
Expecting his home country to deliver in terms of festivities and fan experience, PNVF and AVC President Ramon “Tats” Suzara continued to spur on the community towards the prestigious tournament set for September.
“The excitement and enthusiasm toward the FIVB world championship is getting hotter and hotter,” he said.
“The world championship will indeed be a unique and unforgettable experience for Filipino fans,” he continued.
Suzara is currently in Thailand overseeing their hosting for the women’s world championship that starts on Friday. However, he is also remaining on top of things for the Philippines.
The festivities in Cebu were also attended by Cebu City Sports Commission coach for grassroots Gina Calvez, Department of Tourism operations officer Neal Brylle Guillen, and Cebu City sports program coach Dianne Calvez.
Other stops for the tour will include Laoag City in Ilocos Norte and Cagayan de Oro City on August 24 and 31, respectively, where fans will be encouraged to catch the action live and secure their tickets on the tournament’s official website.
Alas are currently in the last stop of their training camp in Portugal after having been in Bucharest and Morroco earlier.
